What video?
It's interesting to me. I consider myself a n00b and I watch videos and read comments to learn. But what I find strange with UA, in this case, is that people always comment saying things like "the person in the video clearly has no clue about bass [or whatever]" and I am thinking "UA obviously watched this, and was in on this, it's not a random youtuber as some seem to think - or at the very least UA gave the video their stamp of approval" So how can these things happen? From re-pitched vocals to not level matching when A-B-ing [good nowadays, not so much in the past].She's a good producer and songwriter. Too bad those vocals were re-pitched and no matter how much she tried to make them sound good it couldn't be done. That alone killed the video for me and I stopped watching at some point.

Ah, yea I understand!It's complicated.
We reach out to people about making vids like this, but really, they're on their own for the most part when making them. We don't want to intrude too much.
If it's shot in our studio in Santa Cruz (like my quick tips vids), then it's ALL UA.
Thanks!!! yeah, I have lots of "dreams" for 2024 for my video output. I'd love to do a full blown mix demo with all UA stuff (this is what I do with my clients everyday), so we'll see!!Ah, yea I understand!
I love your videos!
I wish you guys would do a series like the one above, from start to finish!
And maybe something with SCS, not only demoing individual instruments, I think that would be really appreciated!![]()
Thank. You so much
This seems to be the case—anecdotally based on what my teenager and their friends are listening to, tuned vocals are either a thing they like or they have through constant exposure become inured to what I would consider its annoyingness.I’m sure it skews WAY younger than most of us. IME, repitched vocals is a sound they like as an aesthetic.
It's conditioning. Just as anyone that came up on distorted electric guitar has been.or they have through constant exposure become inured to what I would consider its annoyingness.
That’s a great example! It's conditioning. Just as anyone that came up on distorted electric guitar has been.
Imagine listening to Bill Haley in the 50s, with all that "clean" guitar. 10-15 years later, there was all this "distortion" that the kids loved.......
yeah, I just listened again before posting to make sure my memory was accurate. That’s a great example!
When I first heard Rock Around the Clock, I “thought” I was hearing overdriven guitar playing the riff behind the vocals. This was second generation for me - early 1970s. What I was really hearing was a Baritone Sax popping that riff.
For sure - that solo is no joke. The solo in that tune, which is pretty clean, is a miniature masterpiece and technically fairly advanced - even in this day and age.
Danny Cedrone.
Amazing solo, especially the downward chromatic bit at the end. Ripping. The solo in that tune, which is pretty clean, is a miniature masterpiece and technically fairly advanced - even in this day and age.
