The driver needs to be made to run in user space rather than as a kernel extension. That’s in the process of being done, or at least it’s been stated that will be in place at the latest when Apple pulls the plug on 3rd party kernel extensions drivers.
Until then, let’s not drink too much Apple Kool Aid here, it’s a good thing this is pushed in, for OS
stability purposes, but the average user’s precious data sits in user space. It can be hacked, spied on or destroyed, trivially so, should one decide that!s what they want to do, with the user’s own assistance.
If you want to keep your system secure (or rather as secure as feasible), get it off the grid, and make it single purpose, no extra software not strictly related to that one application. And for the love of god don’t install junk like UA Connect (use a dedicated machine to download UADx and move them manually).
… in other words, worry less about kernel extensions making your system ‘insecure’ and worry more about the dozens of Electron-based applications you install daily, of your own accord
