It's the same technology used on several CD releases - Mdonna Immaculate Collection, Pink Floyds Pulse etc.
Best of all if you encode with these - carefully - you can play the resul;ting stereo file back through an old SQ Quad decoder. And it comes out in lovely 4.0 sound.
Even works nicely through Dolby ProLogic II, Dolby Surround (AKA Dolby Pro Logic) and LCRS type decoders.
