S with a slash through it? Please help me understand this Solo button

This solo button. Apparently S with a slash through it means, When I solo another track, all the tracks that have an S with a slash through it are going to play also -- even when I simply want to listen to that solo track by itself! What did I do wrong that caused these tracks to have an S with a slash through it? And how can I make it go away?

S with a slash means Solo safe which has the effect you describe. Right click the solo button and you can turn it off. I think maybe ctrl click works also.
