Selling my UAD

Let's say I want to sell my UAD...

I sell the card, give the buyer the password and login name for myuaudio.com so he can download the authorisations for the extra plugins I bought and off he goes....right?

He installs the card, downloads the authorisations and the card works.

Or am I forgetting something?

Thanks!

No...
I think you are supposed to have your customer create a UA account and then you email UA support and have all of your info (Auth) transfered to that user. You should not be giving your login to anybody. I'm pretty sure UA will have to create a new Auth for that customer, sense the auths are assigned to your PC.

Ok...so why not let the new user change the name, adress, emailadress and login at myuaudio.com? This way he'll get the info from UA on his adress and he has his own login and myuaudio.com is registered to his name...

Will this at least work? Will the plugins work on his computer?

I'm pretty sure UA will have to create a new Auth for that customer, sense the auths are assigned to your PC.
I never gave UA ANY info on my PC. The authorisations are downloaded on another PC, so how can authorisations be for just one PC?

The authorisation is for cards and plugins within a group. You can use your plugins on any PC as long as there is at least one of the cards installed from a group. For example, I have the latest drivers and authorisations installed on my home, work and studio PC's, so if I need to work with the UAD stuff at any of these locations I bring at least one of my cards.

Technically, yes. You can give a buyer your email address and password, but that's not the way I would work.

Cheers,
Peter

Well... My acccount has my credit card info....
I wouldn't want to give someone access to that.

Got a point there....but I was looking for my CC number, but I couldn't find it anywhere in myuaudio.com.

Where would it be if it is in there?

Thanks...

Last time when buying the helios, I didn´t had to fill in my No., too. Mabe only the browser remembered it, although ususally I deactivated the password memory. Maybe it is stored in the UAudio Shop form.

Anyway, I wouldn´t give the login Account Data to anyone else. There should be no problem at all, if you mail to UA and go the official way.

I Believe your credit card info is stored along with your user ID and your password.
I would not give these out to ANYONE.
You can't blame UA if you do!! thats what they are for too protect you.

I would just fill out the transfer form. It takes 2 minutes. UA doesn't charge transfer fees (like some other companies do), so there is no real reason to do something funny to circumvent that.

Yeah...I guess you're right...I'll fill out the form! I just thought there might be a faster way, but there are too many downsides

Thanks!

Just give the buyer the reg file, that will work right away! Then you can transfer later and more relaxed.
