Hi there,
Whilst recording, I am using a chain of UAD plugins, which I have perfected for realtime monitoring and recording, with no latency issues. I am completely happy with this.
For mixing, I wish to use some non UAD plugins. Namely, RX10 for DeBreath, MouthClick, etc. Due to the buffering required for these non-UAD plugins, the latency is very high. But of course, for mixing, it doesn't really matter, as I'm simply listening.
The issue arises when I wish to switch back and forth, from Recording and Mixing. As soon as RX10 Debreath, etc, are placed on the track, recording has extreme amount of latency. Surprisingly, this is even if the plugins are "Bypassed", and/or "Disabled". Only once I completely remove them, does the latency return normal again. However, this isn't something that I wish to do, each time I switch back and forth, from Recording and Mixing.
So yes, this is causing issues with my workflow, when I want to switch between recording and mixing. Deleting plugins means, I lose all the configuration and settings. Sure I can use presets, but this would break my workflow, and prove too cumbersome. And the fact remains, shouldn't disabling these be enough, to end the latency issue?
I have even tried Armed and Dis-armed mode, but the latency is still high with those non-UAD plugs on the track (whether disabled/bypassed or not).
So my question is: Is there an optimal way of doing this? Essentially, I want a quick way of switching between "Recording" and "Mixing" without the fuss and effort.
Any helpful suggestions, would be most welcome.
Thank you.
