Shock mount for SC-1

Hi,

I just got an SC-1 (love it so far!) and wondered if anyone knows of a compatible shock mount? I tried using one I had but the ring that screws on to the microphone had the wrong diameter.

Thanks! :)

Actually, I guess another option would be to just get a different ring if they can be purchased separately? I don't actually know what they're called to Google it!

Don't trust Google.

Universal threaded shock mount. I'm not sure if it's M20 threading or not, though. Maybe the specs will confirm.

Thanks for this reply. To clarify, I wasn't talking about the thread on the mount (where the mount attaches to the mic stand), I was talking about the thread on the actual microphone (where the microphone attaches to the mount). The included mount has a ring with this thread that screws onto the microphone, but it doesn't seem to be possible to detach that ring from the mount to use it with a shockmount (unless it requires more force than I was comfortable to apply?). I already have one that I could use if I could do this or replace the ring with another that has the same thread.

Unfortunately, I don't think the specifications mention the size of the thread on the microphone. The thread mentioned there seems to be the one on the mount. Also, they claim that the microphone includes a shockmount, but the mount is more basic than that (https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/18799214729108-FAQ-SC-1-Standard-Condenser-Microphone).

Yes, I was referring to the mic portion threading. Apparently the link I sent doesn't pull the same top results as it seemed to when I sent it, or I inadvertently sent the wrong link.

M20, M22, and M25 are the common ones, I believe. Again, mic threading, not stand. It's also possible I'm misremembering the threading numbers.

The UA link you attached specifies a standard mount, not a shock mount.

Ooh. The specs DO state shock mount. The FAQ states mic mount.

@UniversalAudio - Drew, I think that needs a correction from the UA team.

I'll get it fixed. Thanks for letting me know
I didn't see it either. I searched shock and found two instances. ;)

We use the same 2 standard sizes as the rest of the industry.

Thanks for replying. To clarify, I wasn't talking about the thread on the mount. I meant the thread on the microphone itself. I want to buy a ring that screws onto the base of the microphone so that I can use it with a shockmount that attaches that way. The thread is different from the ones I have already, and the ring on the included mount (which I think would do the job) doesn't seem to be detachable?
