Sidechain Compression????

I just bought the Ultra pack. Loved all these plugs when I've used them on Pro Tools. Really disappointed and a bit confused that you cannot sidechain the 1176s etc with the UAD software. When will there be a software revision sorting this problem out??

Hi Aaron,
What host DAW software are you using? Some of them (specifically cubase/nuendo) allow special routing so you can create sidechain compression or de-essing.

I have achieved proper stereo sidechaining with Voxengo Crunchessor.

As the UA plugs stand at the moment I believe you can only get mono compression.

Check out Crunchessor or the other option is Compadre for percussion (which I haven't tried yet but its always worth downloading the demo...)

check it out here

hi there All,

thanks for getting back to me.

Firstly James at U Audio. I'm running Logic6.4 on mac G5 Dual processor.

Drammy, thanks for the info but as in my answer above i'm running a Mac and what I'm really looking for is a solution using the UAD plugs.

Ninja, 9 toilets eh? very posh!!! The answer as far as I know so far is no.

Cheers All

In that case are you happy to settle for sidechaining but with a mono signal coming out?

Because as far as I know that is all you can achieve at the moment...

But in line with the thread I too would like to know if proper sidechaining is on the cards...
