Sometimes I hate my UA card...error 21 just showed up.

The one afternoon I finally get some time to my DAW, my UA card starts sucking my world up.

OK, new problem.

I am getting a \"Card1 not responding\" error after about 10 minutes of use with Sonar 4.04. This is brand new, things have been humming along quite nicely and I haven't added / changed anything for quite some time.

Basically, I start getting the dreaded 'error 21' when I hit <play> at some random point during work on a project.

Ugh, frustrating because things have been working quite nicely lately. Anybody have any clues as to why this would just 'appear' ?? I've been using the 4.0 version of the UA for a few months, and always use the VST versions within Sonar.

I'm using:
AMD X2 4200+
Soltek K8T800
2 GB RAM
NVidea GEforce FX5500
Lynx IIA

I feel your pain. It seems as though UAD-1 and Sonar don't always play nice with each other. I have also been experiencing the err-21 syndrome. Just out of curiousity, what is your buffer i/o setting (in Audio Options/ advanced).

One thing you can try is to go into device manager and uninstall the card there and reboot and let it find its drivers again.

you dont have to actually take the card out.

ive seen this fix things, at least for quite awhile and then you might have to do it again. I've seen this on a couple friends systems.

I'm using my Lynx II with ASIO drivers. ASIO panel currently has my buffers set at 512...

Tried that. Still seems to be happening. I have Sonar 5 here ready to install. I'm going to install this, open the project, and see if I'm having the same issues.

uninstalling seems to work...

Tony,

Seems like uninstalling the cards works. I had a huge project I've been working on without problems when suddenly the err 21 thing raised it's ugly head. Uninstalled cards and now everything seems OK.
