Sonar 6.2/cpu munching and Neve latency returns...

Hi - I picked upSonar 6 (6.2 now) and loaded several projects. I have noticed 2 things...
1) Neve 1073SE tracks (using only 4 instances) are back to delayed sounding - I checked and I have PDC set to 1 for all plugins. Any suggestions?
2) It seems that cpu muching has stopped on some projects, but not on others. Any suggestions? I've been searching the forum for 2 hours, nothing really throwing up a red flag for me.

Also, I made a screen shot of my registry, but can't figure out how to load it here. Please advise and Thanks, Shep[/url]

Good news on the Neve 1073 latency - When I loaded 6.2, apparently all the delay compensations in Sonar 6.0 stayed put except for the 1073 and SE... Still waging the battle to get cpu munching/audio pops/crackles back under control. - Shep

Hey shep,
Good to hear you fixed it.
I'm not using the S6 lately. CW did a great job solidifing the program and I think the rest of my complaints lie in the UAD-1's design and architecture. I still can't get used to the way Sonar works. That's just me and my short comings. I think I've found a home in SAMV9 recording and mixing and Nuendo for Post Production.

hey Scott, good to hear from you. Yeah, so strange that I had no munch for a whole day, then...Hey man, could you look at the pics I posted on this site and tell me if you see anything I'm doing wrong? I'd appreciate it - Shep

you Might want to disable
-qttask in the start menu.
Quick time is a bummer on startup.
Everything looks good.
Just a few suggestions.
-Services to turn off
Error Reporting
Themes
and a few other things.(sorry can't remember)
Browse the web for suggestions.
I have a list, but I can't remember them all.
Always be careful when turning off services!
Not that this will help, just a suggestion or it might not make a bit
of difference..
I also noticed that you aren't using a PCI Latency tool
Id sugest downlaoding one and set your PCI priorities.
THey are free... I think I use the DoubleDog tool.
Your Sonar setup looks good,to me.
Remeber to keep your Sonar Buffer the same as your RME's

I took a look at a couple of those(didn't find Doubledog). It looks like thy're for video - would you explain how it works - I don't want to add insult to injury working with something I'm a moron about(kinda like audio, eh?!?). Talk to ya soon, Shep
Making some change sto my system suggested by Jim Roseberry over at Sonar forum. Seems like one on-top-of-it dude.

SONAR 6.2.1 Update

The information in this article applies to:

* SONAR 6 Producer Edition
* SONAR 6 Studio Edition

Notable Fixes/Changes:

* Optimizations for high bandwidth multi-track recording
o Better performance and higher track counts at high sample rates and bit depths.
o New EnableCacheWriteThru AUD.INI variable enables disk write thru caching, which provides more efficient disk I/O.
o New RecordPreAllocSeconds AUD.INI variable can improve disk write performance at high track counts.
o Picture cache is no longer computed in the background during recording.
* BitBridge (hosting 32-bit VSTs in SONAR x64)
o Now supports 64-bit double precision streaming from VST 2.4 plug-ins.
o Now reads plug-in delay correctly on first instantiation
o Improved UAD-1 delay compensation reporting
* AudioSnap / Radius
o Transposing an audio clip via the Process Menu command while using a Radius algorithm would crash SONAR.
o If no clips were selected before an audio export, clips with AudioSnap enabled on them would use the online/real-time algorithm instead of the offline algorithm.
o Crash in Radius after bouncing/rendering a clip that had been previously slip-stretched with the Radius algorithm.
* Using SONAR with the 64-bit double-precision audio engine engaged sometimes crashed SONAR.
