Sound Forge and UAD-1

Any SF version, in particular? The latest version 8 now has native VST support, so you can use either the UAD-1 DX or VST versions (not together of course). With SF7 and earlier you can use the DX versions or the VST wrapped with one of the VST-DX wrappers, like Cakewalk's. FWIW, I've used both VST & DX versions, at one time or another, in Sound Forge 6,7 & 8, and they all work fine with the UAD-1 plugins.

Billy,

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at SF8 - good to hear it's working fine for you. Your word is a good endorsement.
Have you you used the UAD-1 plugs as per track effects in CD Architect? In the Wavelab Audio Montage once you activate a plug for the first song the UAD-1 thinks it's still activated for the 2nd song even though the plug isn't being used or heard. Or, if for example you use the PrecisionEQ for song one, and then again for song 2, the UAD meter thinks there are 2 instances of PEQ working for both songs.
I'm hoping that I'm just doing something wrong here. But if Sound Forge and CD Architect react more to my liking I may switch to Sony.

Regards,
Tery

i will test cd architect with uad tomorrow if i remember when back in studio. i did notice something today while playing with this very combination; inserting a precision limiter on a track was fine, but when i putone on cd architect master fader i got an error regarding buffer size and the plugin was disabled. will investigate.

Ed,

I'm digging up an old post, but what did you find out?
