i figured it out.
In case anyone is interested, I had to download UA Connect, register my mic, and then the necessary plugs are downloaded and installed. I didn't know to do this because I had the original Townsend brand Sphere mic, I'm sure when one buys the new UA models, they tell you how to do it. But the original Townsend owners are on their own to figure it out. It would be nice if emails were sent out to the buyers of the original L22. The original Townsend Sphere Plugin doenst work in Silicon....It took me a while to figure all this out.....Hope this helps someone!

Yes, you can use UA Connect, or use the earlier stand-alone installers. I use the latter for native and HDX, as I highly prefer three previous interface.

Townsend Labs Sphere v1.5.2 supports Apple Silicon on VST2, VST3 and AU. My recollection is that it didn't support AAX because there was no native Apple Silicon version of Pro Tools available at that time.

We did send notices to all Sphere owners but I'm sure we missed a few people and I expect a few messages went to spam.
