Strange behaviour in Performance meter

I have noticed when I change my buffer setting on my Asio driver it has an effect on the UAD-1 Performance Meter. I had disabled my plugins, and on altering the Asio I found that they were enabled again, even though the tab said disabled. Luckily This didn't overload the system but could have. I had disabled the plugins so that I could do a patch with other plugins, and to prevent hitting the max. Has anyone else experienced this? I had to click on the disable tab again to disable them.
