I am considering switching from PT to DP4.5 mainly to take advantage of the auto delay compensation with my UAD. I would use an 002 as my interface and am wondering what problems that I may run into. I like the looks of DP's user interface vs. Logic and Cubase. I really like PT but find that I use my waves pluggins instead of the UA ones just because I don't like dealing with delay compensation. Feel free to answer any of the following questions:
1) Is audio editing as easy in DP as in PT?
2) Will I get better performance mixing UAD and native plugins in DP than i do in PT? I find that I can only use a few UAD plugs if I want to use several native plugs.
3) Will DP work well with the 002 or will I be dissapointed and want a different front end?
4) Does anyone not like DP and why not?
5) Will there be any problems having both the VST and AU version of the UAD drivers installed on the same system?
I don't use a lot of midi tracks mostly audio. About the only time I use midi is with reason or with BFD for drum parts. I know some questions might be appropriate in different forums but I wanted the advice of fellow UAD-1 users that have used PT, DP along with other recording applications on a MAC.
Thanks for any advice you wish to share.
