Taking the Dream '65 + Del-Verb Setup Live!

Hey everyone!

I've recently started rehearsals with a pretty sweet setup and thought I'd share it here for any gearheads or anyone curious. I'm running my guitar through the Del-Verb first, then into the Dream '65, and finally into a Walrus Audio Stereo Canvas (to PA). However, I'm choosing to output in mono, not stereo, for my setup.

I'm gearing up for my first series of live shows with this configuration in about a month, and I've hit a bit of a wall when it comes to finding user experiences or live performance feedback online. It seems there's a flood of YouTubers out there showcasing what these pedals can do, which is great, but most of what I find is focused on product demonstrations rather than actual live use cases. I decided to go with this setup because I wanted something that could really shine in a live setting, not just for creating content or bedroom playing. I've seen plenty of amazing demos, but there's something different about the demands of a live performance, and that's what I'm preparing for.

So, I'm reaching out to this community for any insights, experiences, or advice you might have. Have any of you used your UAFX amp modeler in your live setups? How do they hold up in the wild? Any tips, tricks, or caveats you've discovered would be incredibly valuable to me and, I'm sure, to others here considering a similar path.

Looking forward to hearing your stories and advice. As I finish sipping my coffee, I wish all of you a fantastic cup of your own and a wonderful weekend ahead. Let's rock those stages and share our experiences - coffee in hand.

Oh, by the way, I almost forgot to ask - how are you folks securing your UAFX pedals to your pedalboard without resorting to velcro? I'm curious about any neat tricks or alternatives you might be using.

Last weekend I used my uafx Woodrow pedal live with a band at an outdoor party.
I went into an old Roland JC 120 amp.
Speaker sim OFF on the Woodrow. Controls relatively flat on the JC120 with the treble (on the amp) backed down. *EQ is guitar, player, room, and speaker dependent.
I did not use any pedal in front of the Woodrow. I was playing rootsy blues, soul and country music and a little bit of jump swing Jazz. I used a Telecaster. I just put the pedal on top the amp.
It sounded and felt just like an amp to me (and everybody else). It was set it and forget it affair.
YMMV.

Hey,

I wanted to follow up on my initial post from March now that I’ve had four months of using the Dream '65 and Del-Verb in live settings. I’m happy to report that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’d like to share some of the highlights with you.

First off, the sound quality has been phenomenal. The Dream '65 really shines in a live environment, capturing that classic tone with such authenticity that it’s hard to tell it apart from a traditional amp. The clarity and warmth of the sound have been consistently impressive, and I’ve received numerous compliments from audience members and fellow musicians alike. Many are shocked when they find out I’m not using a conventional amp, which speaks volumes about the effectiveness of this setup.

In terms of performance, the setup has proven to be incredibly reliable. I’ve had no issues with latency or signal dropouts, and the pedals have held up well under the rigors of live use. The Dream '65, paired with the Del-Verb, delivers a rich, full sound that fills the venue beautifully. Whether I’m playing in small clubs or larger halls, the consistency of the tone is spot-on every time.

One of the major benefits I’ve noticed is the ease of setup and portability. Not having to lug around a heavy amp has been a game-changer, especially when moving between multiple gigs. The compact nature of the pedals means I can get everything dialed in quickly, allowing more time to focus on the performance itself rather than the gear.

I highly recommend these pedals to anyone considering a similar setup. The UAFX models deliver on their promise of studio-quality sound in a live setting, and they’ve exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re on the fence about making the switch, I’d encourage you to give it a try—you won’t be disappointed.

Looking forward to more great shows and sharing more stories with you all.

Rock on 🤘

Is your setup the same as in your initial post? Del into Dream into Canvas (mono) into the board?
