So I updated my computer and once I did I get the error message The selected audio device could not be initialized. Please choose another audio device.
when I load pro tools.
I’ve tried for hours to figure out what’s going on and how to fix it.

I am using a PC

There is a bit of information missing to help you:
What audio interface are you talking about, USB or Thundebolt?
Operating system?
CPU? Intel or AMD? Which model?
Motherboard?
Connection with ProTools, ASIO or WDM?

Using the Apollo twin X usb.

You might have a problem then, the Apollo system doesn't get along with AMD, here is the link to the UAD compatibility page:
