TIMING GETS OFF WHEN I ADD PLUGIN

i had a neve 1073 on a master track with a waves l2. next i went to mix and decided to add another track in digital performer (5.1.1) (os10.4.8). when i was recording the click track was comepletely off with the music. if i take off the 1073 it is all ok. i also noticed this when i put a plate 140 on the drum aux and the drums only were off beat.

any suggestions?

Just for curiosity, have you tried changing the order of the plug-ins? Certain plug-ins (including Waves) have been known to report incorrect delay in the past. Are you running the latest Waves version of their plug-ins?

yeah. it seems to be a uad plug on an aux. i also had somebody from the DP forum check and they used a focusrite liquid mix plug on an aux and checked the click afterwards and the same result. seems like a weird problem.

Are you doing multiple plug in routes off any of the tracks in the session? (Ex: Inserted plugin on snare track, aux send off that plug to a Verb on an aux track)
It's been my experience that mutiple paths confuse ADC settings as the host is being asked to make two different conflicting adjustments.

That'd be a design flaw in the host. Nuendo's PDC works fine no matter what the routing is.

Yeh, I can confirm this bad behaviour in Dp 5.11 with the 4.50 UA drivers. I have been using the 1073SE's, 1081SE's and other UA plugs, including Preflex. Its not consistent, sometimes it works properly sometimes not. Putting two UA plugs in a track definitely messes things up... I can't see a definite pattern.

Hopefully they figure it out soon ,its no fun when its happening while you're trying to mix!

Just stop the playback and start it again...

Hi there, stopping and starting playback does not fix this particular problem.
Yes, delay compensation is turned on in DP.
Specifically I am using the new input monitoring feature in DP5 for Subgroups when mixing. Assign the outputs of selected tracks to a bus then using this bus as an input to an audio track with input monitoring enabled while having the \"monitor effects thru record enabled tracks\" option selected in DP. Similar to an Aux track in DP but you can then record your submixes directly to that same track (unlike Aux tracks).

Could another DP user please try a similar setup and see if it causes similar non compensated delays?

So far I have the following problems with compensation:
Inserts on \"Input Monitored\" audio tracks.
Sends Enabled on \"input monitored\" audio tracks either sending to an aux track or another record enabled \"input monitored\" audio track eg: for reverb.
Changing audio hardware buffer size changes the interplay between the delays, ie: its not consistent (an absolute nightmare if you decide to raise the buffer when running out of CPU on a big mix!)

I am not 100% sure that this is a UAD-1 problem, it may in fact be a DP problem, its just the huge latency of plugs like the Neve's and Fairchilds and Plate140 that makes it more readily apparent.

I would love to hear from some other DP5 users about this... I will post at Unicornation as well to see if anyone there can confirm..
