Tips on recording Vibraphone

It's been really hard finding a good mic or mic technique for recording Vibes...
I've tried Mid-side, Omni/figure8 underneath... Can't get it right.
Anyone have any bright ideas?

seriously, that's the only way i've ever done it / seen it done / heard it sound good.

Sometimes people will rock 3 mics, and do an L/C/R type thing, but unless you're rocking the 5 octave, it's a bit overkill.

it all depends on how wide you want it to feel, you know?

For what its worth, I find M/S to really only be good on things you want to FEEL stereo, not actually BE stereo.
