TC Polytune can be good (but has the dumbest limitation in only allowing one per session)
IK ‘s (advanced) and Line 6’s built in tuners work OK too.
But LockOn leads the way for now.

Peterson's download link says "Will NOT function as a plug-in at this time. Soon to be released". I've owned StroboSoft since 2009, Peterson was slow to update StroboSoft in the past for 64 bit. StroboSoft is a great tuner though.
LockOn only functions as a plug-in. Open it in a DAW.I downloaded the free version, but have NO idea how to open/use it
ALERT: DUMMY ERROR!
I had LPX already opened, so ut wasn't in my list of plug-ins.
When I closed and opened LPX again, I got the iLok prompt for activation, and that did it.

The Snail by IRCAM. Same accuracy as strobo tuners but without the aggravation of spinning wheels. Not available as a plugin though, just desktop and mobile. I got the desktop version on sale for $19. But the iOS version is all you need and a steal at $2.
