Does anyone have the 2192 and how good is it's master clock? I'm waiting(been 4 weeks now) on a chance to demo one(from my local Music supplier). Wish Eric(jrr shop) carried these.

Had one for one day. Long story -

Seemed quite good. Wish I had details, but... Well, it's a long story...

Thanks for the reply just the same John. If I ever get a chance to try it out, I'll let you know my experiance for what it's worth. It is on my list anyways.

I just bought one of these units, but for the converters, not the clock. I already have an Apogee Big Ben for a master clock. Would be interested to hear comments from anyone who has used one. So far, I am quite pleased with the results.

John, would like to hear your story.....
One cool thing about the 2192's clocking, if I am understanding what I read correctly, is that it can overclock or underclock itself in relation to the external master clock being used. In other words, it seems that if your master clock only goes to 48khz, you can set the 2192 to external clock for the input clock signal, yet still record at a higher sample rate using it's internal clock. I'm not sure if that means you can record a 96khz vocal track with it inside of a 48khz project ( probably not ). I have only used my 2192 so far as a stereo converter set at 96khz, sending the analog two-mix from my Trident to Alesis Masterlink, set at the same 96khz, via AES/EBU cables. The results have been phenomenal, simply stunning.
