ua connect won't launch

assuming this is probably a ilok cloud issue again ?

these are literally the only issues i ever have with UAD or LUNA.

i've been using my rig every day for months and zero problems. today i boot up and i cannot get LUNA to launch because UA connect
will not launch.

done the usual reboots, checked my internet connection.

very annoying.

i use a physical ilok so i don't have to deal with ilok cloud issues.

any other suggestions other than waiting it out ?

There is a new version of UA Connect that just came out. It could have something to do with that.

thank you. guess i'll try to update and hope it doesn't screw everything else up.

i try to never update when i have a solid rig and a ton of projects in progress.

maybe something wrong with ua servers ?

i can't even download the new version of the uad software. it's been going for 20 minutes. it usually takes seconds.

my internet is fine. have no issues on any other sites. streaming music and a movie right now. speed is perfect.

this sucks. looks like i'm cancelling today's session.

is there any way to launch LUNA without connecting to the internet ?

i thought i had everything on my physical ilok.

Quit UAC.

Go into Activity Monitor and force quit UA Cloud helper.

finally was able to install the latest UAD software

updated ilok manager.

rebooted. still getting this...

going to try to tether to my phone internet and see if i can possibly get it to work that way.

maybe somehow my home internet is blocking something

so i reinstalled the uad software again and rebooted multiple times.

same issue every single time.

console is open. my uad plugins show up in logic just fine.

i have signal going to my apollos thru console

just cant get luna to open because it will not go past the ua connect launch.


any other ideas ?

Keep in mind that the UAD installer has nothing to do with UAC.

try this.

i went thru all these steps.

reinstalled ua connect

still same issue.

just can't get past the first screen in luna, it will not launch ua connect. it will just show quit or try again.

not sure what else to try here.

i've already cancelled today's session, will wait for support to get back to me unless there is something else you can suggest i try.

it's very strange because this rig has been so solid for almost 2 years straight.

nothing has changed other than the day. i was tracking drums last night and tweaking some mixes. shut everything down and today
haven't been able to get LUNA to launch.

either way, thanks for always being so quick to respond on this board and others to help when there are issues.

truly appreciate it.

try UA Disconnect, see my sig, it has got me and quite a few users out of trouble. I don’t use LUNA however, but in my experience 99% of the world’s misery comes from the sidekick UAC... I expect Dr Doom was involved in its making, that is the only way to explain how malevolent it turned out to be.

i've given up for the day. too exhausted. will try to reboot again tonight and see what happens and if still stuck with check out ua disconnsect. im assuming that is a third party app ?

i've never had this issue before. honestly uad has been solid for me for 20 years and i've been using luna and the apollos for 3 years with very few issues. usually its been a third party plugin causing an issue or ilok.

this is the first issue ive had with ua connect just not launching.

still nothing.

have tried everything everyone has suggested

uninstalled ua connect. deleted all the plugins. reinstalled ua connect and uad and ilok manager.

three times.

have rebooted dozens of times.

tried closing my ilok cloud session. reinstalled ilok manager and logged back in.

still shows my plugin auths on my phyiscal ilok including LUNA.

i do have one auth for LUNA on the cloud.

is it possible that it's trying to get the LUNA auth off the cloud and that is holding up ua connect ?

to reiterate, this rig has been super solid until this morning when i turned on my macbook and tried to launch luna.

i haven't updated or changed anything. just stopped working this morning.

have tried on a different internet service, thinking maybe my isp is causing issues.

same problem.

just can't get ua connect to launch to let LUNA open.

i could have swore before i could skip past UA connect. now there is no option for that.

once it times out, i get a message that UA connect cannot launch and my options are quit or try again.

anyone else have any other ideas of what i could try ?

i guess the next step if i don't hear back from support is to just reinstall everything including my OS...which is going to be
a major major pain.

seriously considering just going to buy a new mac studio tomorrow so i can get this rig going again. i have a bunch
of projects that i cannot finish until i can get LUNA to load for me.

same issue here, seems like bug of latest UAC update. It would be nice to disable auto-update manually.


At the first run after update UAC shows EULA page with 'agree' 'disagree' buttons and then white screen appears with endless round indicator.
After few minutes it finished with 'Launch Issue An unexpected issue occurred. Please restart UA Connect'
After restarting it still the same problem.
Trying all thing from this topic : re-install, reboot etc. few times, remove prefs like shown in manual from this topic - nothing success.
i even create new administrator user on empty ssd and repeat the installation - still the same.

Found that installation of old version UAC (UA Connect v1.2.2) allows to launch LUNA and UAC logged in just once while self-updating procedure is not completed yet (i can see my login details at the top right corner of UAC window and LUNA put forward latest update. After self-update finishes first help/logon window of LUNA becomes not logged in and the issue appears again.
Some of my UADx plugins are shown as not activated (PolyMax & LA2A), LUNA is not shown at UAC complettely but in the LUNA 'manage' page all plugins shows correctly (see screenshots in the attach)

In ilok it shows as activated of course.
Seems like problem somewhere on login session of new app

Very very professional DAW, yep
I did all the same updates as you and all is well. This is on 2 different Macs (1 Apple silicon and 1 Intel) as well as a Windows 11 PC.

What's your ticket # with Support? Yours is the 2nd report I've seen.
