UA Pedals with Vocals query

Hi,

Been using UA hardware and software for a couple of years now and quite a fan.

Ive recently started playing live again and ive been hooking up my Apollo for the 2 vocal channels to allow me to play with
good quality compression and reverbs in a live enviroment. Im pleased with the results however its not ideal to have to set up
a laptop and apollo etc every time and id rather avoid it.

I figured a potential idea is to add maybe one or two UA pedals onto my pedal board but to be used with a mic for vocals.

I know there are impedence issues meaning I may find little to no signal coming through. Would the MAX (as it has a built in preamp) boost the signal to a normal level? I was originally looking at the 1176 pedal but the MAX maybe a better alternative for what im after. I also have (as a second option) an existing and unused MXR preamp on my pedal board which is designed to give a clean boost to a guitar.. but maybe this could be used to boost the mic as the first instance in the chain from the microphone.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks

Yes, those pedals are highly usable for live vocals. The MAX would be perfect for the compression/pre combo - and the Golden Reverberator would also work well. I can't remember exactly, but I don't think you'd actually need to boost the signal first. If I remember correctly, they are quite easy to use with varying impedance present.

I defer to slamthecrank! My limited experience with vocals through guitar pedals was poor, but that's just me and not recently.

I seem to remember a great video with Jaquire King using UADFX pedals to create a vocal chain. It will still be up there in the UAD Youtube archives.
