UA - Please put mix knob and sidechain filter on all comps!!

I love the PBC. It works extremely well on everything i try it on... I just wish UA could put a low cut side chain filter on all compressors as well as a mix knob. There is no question that it would be of benefit for all of us.

Using the PBC it's just so nice not to have to create groups to do parallel compression... If i could do that with the rest of them i would be so darn happy i could cry.

And all compressors suffer from being controlled by bass frequencies.

Damn straight!

I just mastered a full album of 11 tracks with the PBC as a starting point for every single track and i must say that the PBC probably my favourite UA-plugin right now.

All of the songs where really good but they had a slightly digital stale vibe that was easily remedied by letting the mids control the compression with the PBC with long attack and short release... Some parallel eq and even a channel of parallel transient designer with maximum sustain and the whole project was saved. Vibe city.

It is amazing how much more useful a buss-compressor can be when a low-cut side-chain filter is involved. Combined with a mix knob it is just so easy!

Why do it any other way?

Just extend every compressor window with a mix knob and a sidechain low cut filter and hey presto!

I would actually prefer this to a UAD-2... Sorry.

Would be nice when (if?) VST3 happens if at least things that have access to the sidechain in real life (88rs) will get it on the software too.

Aside from the sidechains, do we really need UA to supply this? It seems like a native shell-type plug-in should exist that could supply mix and gain knobs with ease.

Anyway, for the sake of the cause, I don't see why we're stopping only at compressors. Mix and output gain knobs for EQ's, CE-1, Dimension D, and everything else would also be great!
