UA Plug ins on busses?

Hi,
i'd have a question 4 you guys.. Since i need to use the same plug ins chain(1176,Pultec EQ) with the same exact settings for a group of at least 4 tracks(say backing vocals), can i use the plug ins on logic busses?

So, i can save some UAD cpu resources:D

Yes, you can use UAD-1 plugins in any way that you can use any AU or VST plugin and as peter said, Logic now has delay compensation on bus/aux tracks as of version 7.1 (making it easier to use plugins on buses and have everything sample accurate).

you can use the plugs on the busses....BUT if you do you cant play any VSTi's due to the latency the the Buss DPC causes....and you cant freexe the groups! if you are an electronica producer (like myself) this causes a headache as you have to wait til mixdown to use UAD plugs on busses.....

takes a bit of freedom out of the mix process it seems..... ;-(

Yes, you 'can' apply an 1176 that way. Just remember that it won't work or sound the same as applying them individually to tracks. As it is a dynamic control processor, the transients for the combined tracks will be different than the single tracks.

But, it might be what you are after. Listen and if you like it, use it.

Cubase/Nuendo has a feature to work around this which I hope Logic will adopt. It's a button called "Constrain Delay Compensation"; When pressed it turns off all the plugins that require compensation (therefore turning delay compensation off) and allows you to monitor inputs/play VSTi's without the latency added due to the delay compensation. When pressed again, it turns all the plugins back on 8)
