I wanted to give a big shout out to Ned Herrington at UA Support for walking me through an error fix!

I bought a 7 slot Magma, transferred my 4 UAD1's to it and each card went through the Found New Hardware Wizard successfully.. I loaded a Cubase Project, played it through, added UA plugs tweaked knobs and changed presets.. All fine.. Closed that project and attempted to load a 2nd.. POOF! Screens went black and the PC Rebooted!! Once up it said to the effect, \"your system has recovered from a serious error click for details\".. I clicked and none of it was within my realm of understanding.. So I closed out of that and opened the UAD Meter and found under Authorizations that Card 4 reported an Invalid System Time Error.. Enter Ned.. In no time he had me make a copy of the UA Reg File and send it to him.. He then fixed what he needed to fix and loaded it into MY SYSTEMS at UA.. I D/L'ed the new reg file and I was good to go.. an hours worth of opening and closing and tweaking UAD parameters within various projects later, I am still good to go!! Ned was nothing but helpful and gracious as has been everyone I have encountered at UA! Fantastic support to say the least! And no, I don't work for them LOLOL

So if anyone else gets this error simply call Support and they will have you going in no time!

Agreed! UA has fantastic tech support. :D And that's a very good thing to have!

When I installed the new upgrade I got the Demo Expired thing.. Dave Sheffield had me going again pronto! I get the idea these guys actually care about us out here. 8)

Thanks a heap to all the UA guys that help keep us going... it is appreciated!

Well some people here keep bitching about the cost of the new plugins....keep in mind that when you get this kind of tech support it costs money....people need to get paid and make a living.

I have found UA tech support to be better than ANY OTHER PRO AUDIO COMPANY BAR NONE....emails get answered in a day, usually within an hour.

I realize UA has a smaller customer base than say Alesis (well they are not really pro audio, but you catch my drift) or MOTU, but I've been very, very impressed by their responsiveness.

I'd expect that on the hardware side, after all an 1176 costs $1600 or so, but I've been really suprised at how good the UAD-1 support has been.

Most companies dealing with computers and digital audio are WAYYYY below the responsiveness of UA.

So....if you want that Neve for $129 instead of $249, fine, just be prepared to wait a month if at all to hear back from their tech support.

I don't know of *any* tech support that is more on top of things than UA. I've contacted tech support for digidesign (back in the days when I was exploring the dark side), M Audio, Steinberg, TC Electronics and the list goes on and on. The guys like Dan Kennedy, Fred Forssell, Avalon Designs etc who sell the high end and expensive boutique stuff have always gone the extra mile as far as sopport goes, but I've never ever seen a company support a software product like UA does. That puts UA in the big leagues IMO and it means a lot to me. I support them because they support me.
