UAD-1 and GIGADesign Processor

Anyone else had this problem?

I took a G4 Dual 450 and put a Gigadesign dual 1.2 processor in it.
Audio sssllooowwwsss down, like you would a tape, when I have a UAD-1 installed. No problems when just dual 450 and UAD-1.

I assume it has to do with the 100 bus w/faster CPU calculations that the UAD-1 can't handle.(as apposed to a 133 bus) I'm no guru though.

I guess I'm going to have to give up my faster processor. :(
Unless someone else knows a fix?
Any thoughts are appreciated!

this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but did u buy the right upgrade?
they usually make 2 versions of each model, one for the machines w/ 100MHz system bus, & the other for 133MHz system bus models.

i have a G4 Dual 1.33 Gigadesigns card in what used to be my SP G4 933, along w/ 2 UAD-1 cards. i have not had one problem yet.

i did have a few questions when i installed my upgrade, & found their support to be VERY good. u should give them a call. from all teh reports i've seen, the gigadesigns seem to be the best upgrade cards.

u should be able to get it to work, dont give up.

Likewise. Quicksilver 800 upgraded with the Dual 1.33 Ghz Giga. No issues. :)

Sorry it's taken so long to reply.

Yes, I did get the right upgrade as Gigadesigns Tech. checked.

My Mac's a dual 450/ 100mHz bus w/1.6 GB of memory.
I upgraded the firmware.
I run a dual display card, MOTU PCI-324, UAD-1 and a ATTO SCSI card.
I'm running OSX 10.35, DP4.5....

Gigadesign is sending me another one to see if I had a rare lemon.
I guess we'll see.
