UAD 11 issues

My pleasure to see the introduction of Vst3 was somewhat tempered by the issues that many users have encountered.

It seems that the presets are an issue and that instances of plugins in project have been reset. I have a question. Is this current 2.4 plugins that have been erroneously reset or Vst 3 versions that have not picked up the settings? My guess is the former as Vst 3 plugins from other vendors act in the same way. So there is an issue with the new preset system?. Has the hotfix 11.0.1 solved this issue and is it safe for me to update?

Thanks in advance for any replies. I have a number of projects nearing completion that I would not want fritzed.

I always wait to finish projects before upgrading software unless it is absolutely necessary. Less headaches that way.

Others may have a different process but that’s how I roll. 🤘

Me too, but I have never had an issue with UAD updates, hence the post. I am assuming that you have no info on this?

Everyone's systems are different. As you're on Windows your best bet might be to do a system backup, I use 'easeus.com' and run your own tests. If it's a big fail, it's only 30 mins until you're back to where you were before.

After a lot ohing and ahhing I decided to update to 11.0.1. Especially as I did a lot of complaining about the lack of VST 3 in the past. Ironic considering that Steinberg has not removed VST2.4 from Cubase 13. I needn't have worried it all went well.
My only problem is the Cubase 13 has a number of issues that I won't bore you with, but the latest version has lost the 3 bars that distinguish the Vst3 plugins. It seems to me that the new vst3 plugins pick up the settings on the vst2 versions they are replacing. I have not experienced this before with other software brands. Very impressive.

did everything works fine for you @dnr ?

for backward compatability this is pretty amazing, imagine you are openening in 2025 a project from 2018, which only had VST2 versions in it, in 2025 UAD maybe the current software installer wil not contain VST2 anymore, and all the plugins automatically will loaded with the current VST3 without you need to do anything extra, that is pretty amazing.
so its even more important that this works flawlessly.. i also havnt updated yet to V11 and i´m still hesitant and wait some more.
since SCS is not DSP anyway, there is no current benefit to upgrade on my side, only curiosity ;)

Yes it seems to be working fine. Although make sure that you download 11.0.1 which is the version that I am using. There were apparently issues with the previous version. I am actually having more issues with Cubase 13 at the moment depressingly.
