UAD 4-710d to Apollo x16 via DB25

Hey,

I bought a new x16 and the UAD 4-710d pre-amp. Is it possible to connect these two with a DB25 cable? I tried but it doesn't work, I presume because of the AES-EBU on the 4-710d being digital and the x16 DB25 inputs being analog. Or am I missing something?

Correct. Use the analog I/O.

So no dice on connecting it elegantly with a single DB25 cable? I presume not, just double-checking. I thought the ports were there for inter-UAD product compatibility. Best to use a DB25 to TRS or XLRs, right?

No, those are analog connections on the x16 but digital on the 4-710.

Yeah, d-sub to TRS/XLR as needed
