Hi there,

I'm new in the UAD-1 world.
Does it works fine with Protools6.4/Digi002R? I know that you have to use the RTAS-VST wrapper, but what about the performance?
I use a lot of softsynths and plugins for post-production.

What else should I know before buying it?

Thanks for the help.

Hi!

I'm not impressed by the performance in PT 6.4 / mbox. It works ok, but quickly runs out of power. And the manual latency compensation is a drag. But i kicks but with logic. Lots of performance, and when you hit the loft, just press the freezebutton...

I just added two cards to a G5 (dual 2) running PTLE 6.4. I've only been using the UAD plugins for mixing since there doesn't seem to be any way around the fact the the latency is HUGE (seems like a full second sometimes) however I have my HW buffer size and DAE playback buffer size set to max. I've got about twelve tracks of drums, several of vocals guitars and bass and mults galore. If I were tracking a couple of tracks at a time I might be interested in trying to track with the UAD, but I have enough native plugins to monitor with comps and eq's without going there.

Other than the latency, it's excellent.
