UAD crashing Dual 2.5 G5

Hey guys-
I've been researching the threads here, and elsewhere...no luck yet. hopefully someone can help...
I'm running OSX 10.3.9, Logic 6 Pro... After installing the card in Slot 3, and the software of course-I ran Cocktail to repair disk permissions, and finally restarted... *This is all before opening Logic to test the UAD plugs.

Once I started messing around for a couple minutes in Logic, I got the dreaded screen that gives you only ONE choice...hold the power button in until the computer shuts down. This happened twice so far...and has never happened prior to this... I often have several Waves and Logic plugs going...and my machine hasn't remotely thought of crashing.

One last thing-during my research to resolve this matter-I noticed in the U-audio webzine that UAD-1 version 4.3 was released solely to support OSX.3.9....in fact, I saw this twice. After searching for a good hour-all I could find was 4.2 as the latest... SIGH...

Hours later...still researching and trying the few variations to pinpoint the problem... Still getting crashes forcing to turn off the computer, and now getting the error message \"hardware not recognized\"... I found the post where another user had this problem, so I erased the kext file and reinstalled the software...and still not recognizing the hardware.

Hopefully someone can help me get this running so I can finish some projects :) Thanks in advance guys.

Several days later... I finally got the chance to speak with Casey in UA Tech Support... We went through all possible troubleshooting options, and it turns out the card is defective. He mentioned that this is a very odd scenario (functioning at first, continuous crashing, and finally, inability to function whatsoever)

I'm happy to walk anyone through exactly what to do in order to get your card working, if indeed it isn't faulty. :)

I highly recommend this product, aside from my bad luck... I've been using Waves plugs for several months...(and still will use certain ones)...however, none of the dynamics or reverb plugs remotely compare to the UAD plugs.
