UAD Disables In Middle of Song?

i was using a few UAD plugs in my song... all was fine... no meters peaking more than 50-60%...

i stopped my song to take a break and when i came back in, UAD disabled my limiter and compressors?

what happened?

um... i dunno if i caught the \"uad voodoo\" after reading your post, but after reading this thread i loaded up my last DP 4.5 project which held a total of 6 UAD plugs and NONE OF THE UAD PLUGS WORK?? Including the extra plug that i bought separate - the precision limiter...

I worked all day on my song and now it just wont work... i tried renaming and savig a diferent version... i tried taking away plugs... etc...

this totally sucks dude...

what makes this worst for me is that i just find UAD not reliable because just the other day i was cranking a whole sh*t load of plugs and today I can't even get 6 wihtout it blowing out on me...

this is what i was running:

5 st audio tracks
1 midi channel with a st audio track

1- precision limiter
3 - la2a
1- pultec
1- realverb

my UAD meter also reads 0%?

i had problems with the card before and was even willing to justify my aggrivation as \" i just spent $550 for the precision limiter\" if the plugs just behaved nicely, but i still cannot begin a commercial project using the card just yet because my test projects are constantly yielding different results...

i guess there is no solution for me...

my card is in the right slot, i intentionally bought a new dp1.8 without pcix, and chose digital performer 4.5 and my system is still playing tricks...

um...
i loaded up a previous song with UAD plugs and they did not work either...

i rebooted my G5 and now both songs play happily with the UAD plugs...

any ideas??? why is this? should i expect this often?

Actually this seems to happen more with the G5s, but luckily our engineers have tracked down the problem and the next update (3.9) should fix the problem. Basically what is happening is the plugins are loosing communication from the hardware, it suddenly stops responding. Most often this seemed to be happening on idle (a lot of users reported that they would finish a mix, go grab some food and when the came back they had the \"not responding message\". For the meantime if this happens you can do two things. The longer is to restart your computer. The shorter is to quit your DAW application and the UAD-1 Meter if it's open, and open up the UAD Driver Utility (found in /Applications/Powered Plugins Tools/Driver Utility folder/) and click the Reset button. This will unload and then reload the UAD-1 Driver into the system, which to the card, is the same as restarting your machine.
