Hey!
Here's another round of \"name the Q\" for you who like to play. :)

Today we have the following EQs to choose from...
UAD Precision EQ ($199)
UAD Neve 1081 ($249)
UAD Cambridge ($149)
UAD Neve 88RS ($299)
Millennia NSEQ-2 Solid State ($3850)
Millennia NSEQ-2 Tube ($3850)

All EQs have processed a mix using four parametric boosts. Curves have been matched as closely as possible and so the deviation is very small. Since there's also a piece of hardware involved all the plugin EQs have travelled through the same DA/AD conversion as the hardware to rule out any converter coloration taking place. The original file is also included, named \"Original\" that has also travelled through the DA/AD conversion for those who'd like to try out any other EQs and compare.

Band 1
180Hz Q=1 Gain= +0.5db

Band 2
500Hz Q=1 Gain= +1.0db

Band 3
2300Hz Q=1 Gain= +2.5db

Band 4
4800Hz Q=1 Gain= +1.5db

The link is to a .rar file containing 7 pieces of 16bit audiofiles. A total of 80mb!
Enjoy the listening experience! :D

sounds to me that the first 2 (1,2) are more open... maybe more HIGHs there.
i think the 2nd is smoother on the highs...

for all the rest... i think 5 is... really... harsh on the lows... mid-low maybe
6 is pretty open-er-ish than 3-5...

thats what i hear

umm...
say... can you upload the original with no ad-da thingy?

thanx

I'm really surprised. I picked #1 then #5 on my first listening. I never liked the Cambrdige EQ, but now I'd have to take another listen.

Thanks for the test.
