UAD plugins don't show up in Luna, but are all present in Reaper and Logic

Interesting..this morning I fired up Luna after downloading and installing the latest updates to both Luna and the UAD software.

I typically delete the aax and vst 3 plugins as I don't use them. I opened an existing session in Luna and all UAD plugins were showing as missing and no UAD plugins were listed in the plugin browser.

Alternately I opened current sessions in Reaper and Logic, and all UAD plugins in use were still there, and all UAD plugins were available.

I've not been using Luna for awhile so I'm not terribly put out for the moment, but this still is a bit concerting.

Maybe now that VST 3 plugins have been made available, Luna insists on seeing those as well.

Can anyone confirm that all UAD plugins except AAX are necessary for Luna to utilize them?

Thanks,
LC

no VST3 is not required for LUNA (as of 1.5.5, with UAD software 11.2.0). My best guess is that you have not ‘allowed’ the UA extension in the Privacy control panel, which for some reason seem to have aggravated consequences for LUNA.

I'd recommend leaving what the installer does alone.

Now that UAD is VST3, LUNA will likely follow at some point in the future.

I definitely allowed the UA extension...

Requiring 3-4 versions of the same plugins strikes me as requiring a huge amount of wasted space...as I mentioned, I routinely remove the PT AAX plugins with no consequences as I don't use ProTools...having to keep 2 VST versions is a head scratcher...

Oh well....

AAX & AU = 19.4 MB each.
VST3 = 19.3 MB

huge amount of wasted space? I get it if you don't use Pro Tools, then not installing the AAX version, but thinking it's gonna save/use a large amount of wasted space, i think you're thinking too much into it.
