UADx Plugins with Steinberg Software on Windows 11

I am asking all users of UADx plugins, who work with Windows 11 and Steinberg Software (Cubase Pro 13 or Wavelab 12), to spare a few minutes and do a small test.

After correspondence with the Support team, I did not find a solution to the problem that is bothering me.

When using any UADx plugin:
Press the SHIFT tab and while it is pressed move any of the plugin commands.
Does anything happen to your system when you do this?

Thank you for your reply.

hey Dixieland

what do you mean with SHIFT tab?
do you mean SHIFT + TAB Key at the same time?
or just the SHIFT key

i´m still on Win10, but also Cubase 13, and when i hold the SHIFT key and keep it hold, and move any of the UADx plugins knobs, i can finetune the value of the knob

Yes, I mean only SHIFT + any command (as you described).
It is normal operation without issues.

When I work with any Steinberg DAW - in my case: Cubase Pro 13 or Wavelab 12 on windows 11 (23H2) and UADx plugins, every time when I press SHIFT KEY + any of the UADx plugin commands, suddenly I lose control over complete windows . The only thing left for me is to restart Windows.
I'm an experienced user, and that's why it's even more of a problem for me that I don't know what it's about...
And it still bugs me that this happens only with UADx VST3 plugins, and not with regular UAD VST3.

thats strange, does it also happen in a different DAW on your system? just out of interersted
i just tried with all DAWs and VST plugin hosters i have installed on my computerand the Shift Key works nicely on all the UADx plugins i have tried

btw, i´m also on Cubase Pro (13.0.30)

Please check one more thing!

Now I noticed that the problem only happens when I press RIGHT SHIFT. I don't even have to touch any command on the UADx plugin. As soon as I pressed RIGHT SHIFT, the problem occurred.
When I press LEFT SHIFT everything works normally.

I'm left-handed, and maybe that's why I encountered the problem, because when I hold the mouse with my left hand, then I use the right SHIFT
Although I may be wrong, if everything works normally on your system.

i checked, both RIGHT and LEFT SHIFT Keys are working fine here.

however, i noticed when i hold the RIGHT CTRL Key (knob value resets to previous value when the plugin was opened), and i drag (not single click) with the mouse a knob (or slider) of the plugin, the controls freezes
i can unfreeze it when i hit and drag the LEFT CTRL Key again

I somehow solved the problem:
With using the program "SharpKeys", I switch LEFT SHIFT and RIGHT SHIFT on my keyboard and now everything works fine - even on both SHIFT.
It's the same with the CTRL keys. When the left and right keyboards are swapped - both work normally

All UAD2 plugins have the possibility to change the Controls Mode (Linear, Circular and Relative Circular) in the UAD Control Panel - Configuration - Plugins
Every DAW software has the same possibility.

I think the error is related to the fact that UADx plugins currently works only in Linear mode (regardless of how it is set up in the DAW application).

If I hadn't shared the SHIFT problem with public (in that case: you), no one would have known that there was a problem with the CTRL key too.
Is that so? And why is that? Because people use the minimum of resources and potential that certain software provides. Do you think that more than 20% of users use the "fine adjustment" function? I think not!
This is the main reason why the problem "doesn't happen" to others...
Thanks for the answer and best regards

nowaydays i´m using hardware controllers to adjust (most) my plugin values, so its even less noticable for me that those keys on the right side wont work as intended..

sometimes i use the Left SHIFT Key to switch to fine tune mode, even more seldomly i use the LEFT CTRL key to reset to the previous knob value if i have adjusted a parameter accidentily or i want to A/B 2 values.
since the UAD-2 plugins did not have fine tune-mode for a very long time, i´m still not adjusted that UADx has those now :D
in the past i used the CTRL way more often, when Cubase was not able to undo plugin parameters in older versions, so i´m still glad these features are still exist as they have practical use still
