UA's next plugin should be...

What should UA release for the UAD-1 next?

i working at 44,1 or 48 khz, 16 bit, and i don't need any new plugin that eat 1/2 or 3/4 of one UAD-1 card,

what we really need is more power,

UA after your neve 1081 you know what you have to do : a new hardware

I can't count the times I have needed a great sounding stereo phaser! A good de-esser would be my second choice. The tape and tube sims that I have heard seem to only add distortion. Maybe UA could do a better job.
Actually, my \"first\" choice would be a killer ping pong delay!! I have posted that before and got all sorts of replies about this one and that one, but NONE that I have heard do a true ping pong delay. And if they somehow do you have to fuss with it for a while to get it right :(
example; dry signal= center, first regen=right, second regen=left, third regen=right, and so on. One delay time to control both sides. I have 2 hardware units in my front of house rig that do this without a fuss! the TC-M one, and an Alesis midiverb 4. But somehow VST plug programmers can't get their head around the simplicity :(

Have you tried Waves SuperTap or PSP608 Multidelay? They both do what you describe and a ton more. I just tried that with SuperTap and it's not really a fuss.

I voted for the Tape Emulator+Saturator. I will like also a stereo emulation of the Maestro MSP Stage phaser pedal that I owned and which now need a big costly repair I guess, and still mono out!

I still want a UA compressor to replace my Sonalksis 315. I would love UA to do a generic SSL G384 type bus comp. They could call it Precision Bus Compressor - whatever.

I love that sound and I don't want to buy Duende or Waves to get it - I'm happy sticking with UAD cards.

Sorry for my boring vote.

What I want is a GOOD and SIMPLE channel strip from them.

I really don't dig what they refer to right now as their channel strip. Like an API channel or something would be really sweet (if they want to stick to the 'modeling' thing)

It would be really great if they just came up with their own, made it low DSP so you could run more than 2 instances of it (since it is after all, a channel strip), and then priced it at $150.

I can't seem to find a demo for super tap on the waves site.. Do you know if one exsists?

I'd prefer more powerfull card and upgrades to the plugs they already have, especially their reverbs. To improve existing plugs will go along way. After these desires are met i then can come with a long list of new types of plugs i'd like to see.

Also would like to see UAD-2 at the top of the priority.

I voted Chainer, since it was the closest thing to that; less PCI accesses would reduce host CPU workload, which would also be nice.

Download the full version and it should give you a 14-day demo period.

Keep in mind:

1) The full version requires iLok.

2) If you like it and wanna buy it, for the price of the single plug-in you can get the whole Musicians II bundle, which will give you another 5 plugs, and if you buy it from JRR, it's even cheaper.

Lots of great options there but it seems pretty obvious that tape is going to win. I'm surprised at how many people voted for an exciter, though.

I haven't seen any Waves stuff at JRR for quite some time.

PS How do I format to get 'Akis wrote' instead of 'Quote:'?

I was really impressed by the Roland/Boss choruses, and now I would like a Flanger or possible Phaser of the same caliber.

Hmm, I bought Musicians II from JRR about 3 months ago... Maybe e-mail or call them?

Just press the 'quote' button on this post and see how the first line starts.

I bought the SSL bundle in May, but soon thereafter all the Waves stuff disapperead, although Waves is still in the drop down menu.

Aah, THAT quote button, I have only used the Reply function before... Thanks!

Some tweaking needed for the second quote, though.
