Using Flac as session file for mixing

Does Luna support flac to be used as a session format or does it generate wav files to use regardless. I only have 8 GB of ram and Luna seems to use more memory than my other daws

Luna system requirement I believe is 16GB or RAM, so you are already starting at a disadvantage.
If I recall correctly Pro-Tools and logic system requirements its only 8GB of RAM, but any case I can guarantee you will most likely struggle as well in both PT and Logic with only 8GB

I suggest bumping up the RAM if you can, or get a little more powerful machine if possible?

Either way FLAC is nothing more than a compressed Lossless file, so it wont save you much processing power.

Hello, thanks for your reply. My MacBook cannot be upgraded and the cost to upgrade Apple memory is way too much when you make a purchase it’s just not worth it in my humble opinion and the fact that Luna only works on Mac I might not be able to use it much really at all the reason why I was using flac is because I was thinking because it does make the file size smaller for the audio files. I was thinking, maybe it would be a good substitute to lower The memory so that Luna would have more available memory for the plug-ins or for the application itself since it is higher than my other daws which is perfectly fine with 8 GB of ram for mixing.

I’m not sure how much more Luna could optimize the program I mean I know that the latest update for January 17. It did lower the RAM usage on large sessions according to the release notes. However, I haven’t experienced that lower usage because I don’t use large sessions on my machine due to the fact that it’s not able to do that
