Using FW Apollo and FW Satellite with an OWC FW>TB Hub

Hello! I have an old system (2010 Mac Pro) that works well with my FW Apollo and FW Satellite. I'm trying to move towards a more modern backup option in case everything breaks and becomes unusable. I'm running a MBP laptop on Catalina, which fits my Pro Tools compatibility. Trying to connect my UA FW hardware via an OWC powered hub. The hub has a FW 800 port. Right now, the system is not recognizing any of the UA hardware. Has anyone gotten these connections to work via a hub? My MBP only has USB-C connections so I'll need to hub to connect. Thoughts or suggestions? Thank you!

Your best investment would be a Thunderbolt card for you FW Apollo and take the hit on the Satellite.
That being said Apple themselves only dropped FireWire Core Audio support as of Ventura so I see no reason why your Catalina system wouldn’t work.
