Virtual channels not working

I'm trying to get my system sound (mac 13.6.3) to play through the virtual channels.

But couldn't get it to work.
The 'test' I use in the Audio MIDI setup comes through on the virtual channels.

The test levels, yes. They show up in Console.

But nothing to the Mon outs like live inputs do? That is strange.

I'd start here:

Do a full uninstall/delete all prefs/reinstall

I uninstalled, reinstalled and now I can't get any audio through my speakers. Plus my microphones aren't working (nothing showing up in vu meter).
EDIT: My digital input was incorrect. Was supposed to be on ADAT. Fixed THIS issue.
onto the virtual channels stuff. Will check back in soon.

Still not able to get system sound on Virtual Channels.
Setting 'Configure Speakers' to 'Virtual 1 and Virtual 2', I get white noise when pressing the 'test' button and the VU meter for each channel inside 'Console' reflects that noise but can't seem to get system audio going to the 'virtuals.'

I'd toggle them back to Mon L/R and back. Also, try going to 2.1 or 5.1 and then back to 2.0 in Audio MIDI Setup
