Can someone help me set up a vocal chain. I'm running a Warm Audio WA-47 JR -> apollo twin -> Logic Pro X.....There are too many places to adjust gain levels along the signal path and it makes my head spin especially when setting up a vocal chain in console. I end up clipping in console and then the recorded vocal is too quiet in my DAW (using UA 610-B ->UA1176->LA2A->Pultec)...I'm not set on this vocal chain it's just the only one I could find. I'm looking for a linear step by step guide on setting up my vocal chain from preamp to daw. including the nuance of dialing in the gain and output gain on my preamp, setting up my compressors, gates, filters, deessers and what my gain range in my Daw should be looking like for my vocal track.
This is currently what I am running....it's from a youtube video, but I'm not happy with the result. The output into my DAW is quiet, yet the signal is clipping in UAD console :/
