Volt 276 and phantom power for mics

Hi there

I have recently purchased a Volt 276 and two microphones. The mics are a condenser and a dynamic. I understand that the condenser should require phantom and the dynamic should not. However, I have read somewhere (although I can't remember where) that once phantom is turned on, it is on for both inputs. As I want to be recording some acoustic guitar using both mics at the same time, this might not be of any use.

I have also read (again, I cannot remember where) that the phantom power only works on XLR cables and not TSR. If this is correct, then I can run the condenser on the XLR so it will receive the power, and the dynamic on TSR so it will not.

Is any of what I have said correct? If so, is all of it correct?

Any information for those with bigger brains than mine, would be greatly appreciated.

regards

48v will not hurt a Dyn mic.

MANY classic Neve consoles have phantom on all the time for all ins.

That's great news. So I can use an XLR cable on both and all will be good?? (The reason I ask this is because that is all I have at the moment. I would have to go and buy a separate TSR if ti would be a requirement).
