Hello,
I've watched the Volt routing video a few times, but I'm not 100% sure I've gleaned an answer to my question, so here goes:
I have 4 tracks: vocal, guitar, backing track, click. These are routed to Volt's line outs. 1,2 and 3 are patched into my mixer, 4 is patched into an external headphone amp. So far so good?
But say I wanted to utilize the headphone outs on the Volt for my click, instead of a separate headphone amp. As I understand it there's no way to route just the click (line out 4) to the phone jack, but I can have 3 & 4 selected to be mirrored to it. With this, in my phones I'd hear the backing track (line out 3) in my left ear, and click (out 4) in my right. The backing track would also come out of line out 3's quarter inch jack, into my mixer. (Line out 4 would be left unplugged, so no click going to the mixer. ) Correct?
Now, I am thinking if I wanted to hear just the click in my phones instead of a mix of backing track/click, I could use a splitter cable (stereo to 2 mono) coming out of the headphone jack, and plug my phones only into the right (click track) split. The appropriate cable/adapter could send this mono signal to both ears.
Does this sound reasonable? Would having the left signal not driving anything, cause any harm to the headphone amp/jack of the Volt?
Thanks for any replies.
