Vst’s direct to audio

Is there a way to record all virtual instruments directly as audio when playing a midi piano.
To me fidling with midi regions and editing them is very uninspiring

What I do is play the VST with midi to an instrument track then immediately export it as audio.
I guess you can put your instrument track into record, so you can play the instrument, then set the output as virtual 1. Then create an audio track, set the input as virtual 1 and put the track into record?

Ps. I’m thinking that this might result in a midi region also being recorded on the instrument track that has to erased after each recording pass ? If so I’m trying to simulate the feel of having a miked up piano in the room. Is there a way to do that where I do not have to deal with midi regions ?

Just keep making new takes until you are happy with one.
