...or part of it.
I had a break, so I watched the \"mixing and mastering\" section last night.
The video is targeted toward the beginner or intermediate, but generally there's always something you can pick up from someone else. It takes time to explain terminology, but it's well produced and flows very well--I wasn't fast forwarding to get to the good stuff.
The mixing section is very in depth, and the engineer takes you through the whole process, using the UAD-1 exclusively. It's from start to finish--all tracks, and he even goes back to \"fix\" a couple of things that didn't sit well with him by the end. Watch it on your DAW so you can hear some of the subtle tweaks. Oh, and the 1073 is used.
The mastering section is obviously more tedious, but again is done ITB w/ UAD-1 and I found the ME's approach to be interesting, using a couple of instances of Precision EQ along w/ Multi and PreLim. While I won't get into my own personal quirk of \"mastering\" a single tune, he gets the point across.
If you enjoy watching other people work in order to see their approach, or just want to see someone using the various plugs that we sometimes forget about--it's worthwhile. I've got quite a few \"how to\" videos on recording and mixing, and this is a step above the usual--and only the occasional fluff that's supposed to be entertaining.
Once I get into the other parts, I'll try to post a little more on the subject, but for the price I can easily recommend.
