Waterfall Rotary Speaker vs Leslie 147

Hello everyone, I do not post often but I had to make an exception for this particular case. I am still speechless, to be honest, but here it goes. Despite my significant disappointment over the UAD Leslie being native only (😒), I decided to go ahead and purchase it anyway. I am a proud owner of a Nord C2D, which I run through a Leslie 147, mic’ed with a re-20 for the bottom and two shure 57 for the top, going in the Apollo unison Neve preamps.
I decided to test the waterfall plugin by running my nords 1/4 output to my computer instead of the Leslie. After setting up the plugin to respond to my leslie switch in logic, i was ready to rock. The mic selection in the plugin had (amongst many others) the exact same microphones as mine so i decided to use that setup. i kid you not, apart from the plugin having slightly less mechanical noise….this sounds identical to my setup. I am completely speechless at this point because this is the first and only plugin that made me feel like i have an entire leslie moving air in my headphones. The vibe is definitely there, that gritty distortion is there…and i can crank it up in my headphones without running the risk of waking up anyone else in my house. UAD, you've done it again you glorious bastards….

Thanks for the detailed report. The team puts forth such effort so it's always nice when users can really dig in an appreciate it.

This is what we do. :)

Enjoy!!

I can only add that of all the rotary plugs I've used, Waterfall is by far the best.
