What do you think is the best bass amp for you?

I Don’t know which Ampeg is the better.

I play Bass in a band of rock/electronic music.

thanks.

I don't know enough about "real" bass amps these days to say, but there are indeed too many choices with Ampeg at a glance on Sweetwater.

The last time I played bass live I used some MarkBass variant. It was awesome.

What are we talking about price wise? Size (size matters 🤣 ). Other things like would you like a horn in the cab? Crunchy or do you like cleaner? Combo or head/cab? Something that takes pedals?

Ampeg SVT 100%. I have a VR. I'd like an Orange AD200B to have a different sound. And Darkglass pedals but I'm very metal.

Brainworx/UAD Ampeg plugins are pretty cool and bass is one thing that might benefit of being done 100% in the box at times, particularly with not so good players.

I'm 100% INB, I have SVT Suite for that. But I digress, dude is looking for a "real" amp. I was overwhelmed myself when looking at the choices on Sweetwater. I saw 2x12's but not 2x10's. Prices are all over the place and I'm guessing some of them are "budget" versions. It's been so long since I used a "real" amp I wouldn't know where to begin.

I didn't explain myself correctly, I was referring to the UAD ones, not the real ones.

I have the Ampeg SVTVR Classic from UAD but I wanted to know which one would be better than the one I already have.

Apologies...

Check out the demo for Ampeg SVT Suite. I think it's half off right now. You get a few and a billion options.

Haven't really come across Darkglass but I'm loving both the move to Class D amps - and the connectivity and App control -- Trace Elliot have also made that move but without the Network sophistication though they can usually be relied on to deliver tone and the Elf cabinet shouldn't work as well as it does.

Back to plugins ... if you want a 60's tone the (Fender) Bassman plugin from Plugin Alliance absolutely nails the Bassman head and 2x15 cab tone. Needs a little front end and backend help to get the weight but the tone and attack is right.
