What's closest plugin substitute for 1176?

As we all know i tried the UAd on my Neo2 NForce3 motherboard, and for whatever reason, everything we tried failed to get the clicks out of the sound. I had to send it back within the 30 days at Sweetwater, and I was sad and blue about it.

However I LOVED the 1176 - I've never tried another plugin that had that ballsy musical sound.

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions? Blockfish is okay but nowhere near the sound of the UAD's 1176.

Someday if there's another incarnation of UAD that's usable on a wide range of computers I'll be the first in line to buy one, but in the meantime I'm sneaking through the ghettos of plugin hell to find whatever is the closest thing to it.

If you had a Powercore, there is an 1176-based Comp included, but it's not the same. I find the Powercore C1, a simple comp sounds more like a UAD 1176LN. My two cents.

I'm astonished not only that it sounds so cool, but sidechaning operations, super punchy bass and -=gasp=- this thing is made with SynthEdit


Well if someone else has anotehr 1176 emulation suggestion in the meantime, I'll try it.

Otherwise I'll stick with Otium and build a couple of 1176 clones for myself:
