WHEN is the next version due out?

I ask because I missed out on one promotion already (nothing to buy) and now it looks like - unless something is released in the next 10 days - I am going to miss out on yet another promotion as well.

It's all well & good with these \"loyalty\" coupons. but when they expire, it is frankly a windup and annoying.
UA must know I already bought the lot, so why tease with a coupon I cannot use?

I ranted about all of this one or two coupons ago. I believe the terms of the incentives have improved and make a lot of sense now. And I'm assuming there'll be time to take advantage of the coupon this go-round.

However, I once again don't like the fact that they sent me a coupon and IF I want to use it I won't even get the full demo period on a new plugin to make my decision. I'm going to have to quickly evaluate and buy on impulse if I'm to take advantage of the coupon (again, assuming the plugin is released before the coupon expires).

The issue could easily be resolved two ways:

1. don't issue the coupons until AFTER the new plugins are released. I realize that the coupon incentives might be a marketing ploy to try to get those who don't already own everything to add \"old\" plugins to their arsenal. So, I offer suggestion 2 as well...
2. for those who do own all plugins (and UA knows who they are obviously), extend the coupon expiration for at least the demo period length once the new plugins are released...or simply repeat the same promo following the release of the new plugin.

In any event, I'm hopeful that the new release and the coupon expiration timing will accommodate a discounted purchase.

...and can I just slightly hijack this thread to say (and lots of people have said this before but this will be my first time) it would be **really** nice to get something new or upgraded for free (or even cheap) for once.

I've had my (ever increasing number of) cards for a few years now and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's ever been any addition to the basic plug-in suite in all that time.

Just a little freebie treat now and again would do wonders for PR and customer satisfaction I reckon.

Anyway, rant and moan over - I'm off back to my corner EQ-ing hihats...

I would rather UA continue to do what they are doing with all these UA loyalty plugin coupons, which are fantastic. Instead of giving us some throwaway plugin (that we have no choice in) they give us plugin coupons to purchase what we want. The more you have invested (UAD-1 cards) the more the reward. Cripes, just in the last (3) months I have recieved $175.00 in plugin vouchers, for nothing more than owning (4) cards.
That will more than pay for the LA-3A (probably @ $149).

So there is my FREE plugin! Thank you UA!

I think UA is aware that a lot of ppl won't buy optional plug ins, unless they issue a coupon. Why? Because we can't run it! I deeply regret i've bought the Neve compressor cuz I work at 88.2!!! And i have 3 cards :twisted:

And please. We get free coupons and a evaluation period of what is some of the best plugins in the world and a chance to buy them at a very, very reasonable price.

I still have my 3 cards worth of "bonuses" somewhere. Still can't use them though as there's nothing to spend them on I don't already own.
Likewise, I have a $75 coupon that is going to expire in a week or so, and it's unusable because there is, er, nothing to spend it on.
Can you not see my problem?

Hmmm....I could have sworn UA released the Helios EQ back in March that you could have used your voucher on. That is what I did and ended up getting the new EQ for $79.10 (less 10% plugin discount & my $100 plugin voucher, for 4 cards). I got 60% off, on a new product. That was too good of a deal to pass up. If you decided not to use your voucher & 10% plugin discount , at the time, on the new Helios EQ then that was your choice. Now I have another $75.00 to spend on the next plugin release (probably the LA-3A).

Regarding cards, I built myself a new DAW last Fall specifically for my UAD-1 cards, with a MB (ASUS P5B-E) which has (6) additional slots, so I could put (4) cards, all on one MB. They all work like a charm. If you really wanted to add another card there are many UAD-1 compatible MB's that you could put (4) UAD-1 cards in or you could always get one of those Magma thingies. No need to complain that you can only use (3) cards.

I probably have more invested (literally thousands) in UAD-1 product than the average user. Being that I have (4) cards and every single plugin available and I just put my order in @ jrrshop for a 5th UAD-1 card (PCIe), with another $250.00 bucks in plugin vouchers. With the $225 of unexpiring plugin vouchers (from the last card I purchased, already in my account, I should be all set for any new plugin releases for the next 12 months without spending another dime

Nothing personal Neil, as I know you have been a longtime UAD-1 supporter, but just an overall observation. I can't think of another company that has been so liberal with so many promotions & discounts to the benefit of their customers that I get a little annoyed when there are complaints that they just don't give away enough. :? I still remember, back in 2003, when we (as early UAD-1 supporters) got the DreamVerb for free and a few months later got a 50% discount on the Cambridge EQ when it was released.

Somehow, I don't feel ungrateful for the freebies UA throws my way or that I am entitled to anything more.

No small feat I might add given my lack of experience navigating your Country's crazy road system. Not quite 14 days left to test drive for free, but 9 is better than nothing and knowing UA, I bet they'll be cool and still let you use the coupon if you really needed those extra days to decide, although I really wouldn't blame them if they didn't.
