WHERE'S THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO GET A FLEXI PAK?

I'm going to try to get a flexi delivered and registered by new year's eve.

I don't really need it but I can't pass up all the discounts.

Is JRR still offering the 15% 'group' discount?

I know audiomidi.com is offering 10% off anything over $200.

I figured with $600 in vouchers, the discounted plug-ins, and 10%-15% off the cards that I'm getting the card almost for free.

I purchased a couple of Express Paks a couple of weeks ago from jrrshop.
By mentioning \"Eric's\" name and the \"15% UAD-1 forum discount\", in the comments section @ checkout I was able to get 15% taken off the sale price, 24hrs later. I verified this when I checked my order status, online the following day. You can also try entering the \"group\" discount code, but the system told me it was expired, at the time. Eric had mentioned to me earlier, if the code did not work to write the proper info into the comments section and he would take care of it.
Yeah, with all of the coupon vouchers and plugin discounts I basically got my (2) brand new PCIe DSP cards for about $112 bucks each. 8)

FWIW, I have (2) PCI (old Mackie & Project Pak) & (2) PCIe (Express Pak)
cards happily co-existing together on my ASUS P5B-E MB. Who says you need a magma for a DSP farm? :p

If I were you, I'd call Eric @ JRR.
Yeah, probably a good idea if you want to expedite your order before the 31st. Akis made a good suggestion in another related thread, to ask for the hardware ID's before they ship so you can register the cards and get in on the plugin discounts before they expire.

BTW, it took about 10 days after I ordered to receive my cards via the free standard snail mail.

I guess Eric is the man.

I just hope he's not taking this week off.

At first I was thinking if ordered it tomorrow and had it shipped then I would at least get it by Sat., but if they can just give me the hardware IDs, and voucher codes over the phone (after payment clears of course), then I have 3 or 4 days to register.

That was a great idea.

Thanks for help guys.

The codes won't be a problem as we can e-mail them to you before shipping the card (only on Flexi Pak's, we're still in the stone ages here & only have PCIe slots on our server). UA is always very lenient about promotion end dates, anyway. Also, leaving instructions about the 15% group promo in the comments field is enough to get you the discount.

Now it's 15%? WOW. I grabbed an expert Pak from them a few months ago and got the 10%. When was the group buy going on? Regardless, Eric's got the best price in town and service is top-notch.

E-mail me about it, we can apply the difference towards your next purchase.

Let me just say this was one of the best deals and smoothest purchases I made in a while.

Thanks Eric!!!!

With the UAD promos and JRR's discount I basically got all the card for free.

I ended up getting all the plugs I've been lusting over: Neve comp, Roland RE-201, and the Plate 140.

There's stlll 57 bucks left on my voucher and I'm stuck between getting plugs that I would use but don't really need like the Cambridge, Fairchild, or just waiting to see what comes out at NAMM.

The Fairchild is hard to describe sonically and it's just does something magical to stereo files. I recommend it also. And Precision Limiter for Brickwall Limiting.

Even though I already have the 1176, LA-2A, and now the Neve?

I can't imagine what base the Fairchild would cover.

I gave the demo a try when it first came out but I was in the middle of mixing on a deadline and ended up just using the usual suspects.

Someone fill me in...what flavor does the Fairchild have that makes it so special?

It's a varable Mu compressor based on a Vacuum Tube system. The original apparently weighed a \"tonne\".

http://www.uaudio.com/webzine/2003/sept ... ndex4.html

In short, it can be used to limit or compress audio. What's more it can be used in dual mono mode for channel specific tweaks. It's a great plug-in.

The best example I give is, Pink Floyd - DSOTM album, this heavily used the original hardware. Need I say more.
