Which Slot on G4 Dual 1ghz Quicksilver running OSX VST W Nu?

I'm making some system changes and thought I'd double check on this one. Currently my PCI card order is: RME just BELOW the AGP video slot and the UAD-1 just BELOW the RME card.

Thanks

Hi Robert,
Typically the PCI order in G4s does not make a difference. The Dual G4 MDD models seemed to be picky, but not always the case. The current order you have the cards in sounds fine, but I would be aware of the possible heat implications. Your AGP card will pretty hot as well as your UAD-1 will get pretty hot too. I would suggest spacing the RME and the UAD-1 one slot away from the AGP so it would be like this:

AGP
----
RME
UAD-1
----

maybe even put the UAD-1 on the bottom slot so their is a space between each card. The main thing is the UAD-1 and the AGP will both get pretty toasty, so separate them as much as you can for better heat dispersion in the G4 case.

As a followup, I placed my UAD in Slot 4 when I had a single card. it offered the greatest stability. I placed my soundcard in slot 1.

BTW I owned both a Quicksilver and an MDD with my UAD collection.
