A Studio One file of my song with 60 audio tracks is less than 2 gigs.
A Luna file of the song those same audio tracks is 4.56 gigs after a few days of mixing!
This is ONLY the session file and does not include any audio files, which are stored in a separate place. I think. (I thought wrong, See below.*) Is this Luna saving several days of Undo info? That would be a laugh because the Infinite Undo is utterly useless since there is no Undo History.
I am not timestretching or anything or processing files in any way except to change gain in some places. And I did not record any new audio into Luna -- I never have. I only use imported audio from other DAWs.
Why Mommy? Why does the mean Mr. Luna use up all the drive space? What did we ever do to him?
*Wait -- when I import audio into Luna, is it copying over those audio files from their original place (which was not in the same folder as Luna)? I did a Show Package Contents and saw that Luna has gigs of .wavs in a folder called "audio." They have random garbage names, but I played some and they are the wavs I dragged in. So it looks like it IS copying it over. I guess I thought it was like Adobe Premiere and was just pointing to the original files, not duping them.
Does this mean if I "delete unused audio" in Luna it only deletes these NEW FILES IT MADE ITSELF and not the original audio files that I dragged and dropped onto the timeline? After I drag and drop audio into Luna, Luna no longer points to those original files or affects them at all?
Of course all these sessions are on external SSDs, but even those run out of space eventually.
